My Mac login password suddenly won't work even though I'm sure I typed in correctly. That happens to many other users as well. I accepted that and try to treat it as if I forgot the Mac login password. During password resetting process with Apple ID, everything is fine until the screen shows "The supplied iCloud account was unable to unlock this volume." I don't remember I ever turned on the FileVault, not to mention the FileVault recovery key. Where I can get the FileVault recovery key now? It's probably 2015 13" model MacBook. Thanks!
Once somebody resets the main admin password then they also have access to every password that is stored in Safari. Very disappointing to see that there basically is no security for the average user who does not subscribe to a website such as this to learn more.

All you need to do is copy the entire user folder over to the Host Mac. You will be prompted to enter in an admin password. This is the admin password on the Host Mac not the Target Mac. Once the User folder is copied over you will have access to all files.
My observation is computers with filevault enabled with run into the admin password not being recognized.Checked system preferences>security & privacy>filevault (If it is on turn it off and allow the computer to decrypt the hard drive over several hours time).
I have the same issue, using a mobile account link to AD. We use also intune. the reset of the SMC allowed me to get hand on my local administrator but not on my mobile account (domain user). I use the recovery, to do a reset password but I received : Cannot connect to authentication server.
